Fabric-covered Containers

As part of my sewing bug, I've been experimenting with some small projects to help accomplish my never-ending strife to get & stay organized.

As part of my "Fun Container" collection, I had several cylindrical containers that I was trying to come up with something fun to do with. I spray-painted them with black chalkboard paint, then sewed slip-covers to go around them. Instant storage for paint brushes, color pencils & markers. I easily labeled the lids using chalk. And can quickly erase & relabel if the contents change.

I also covered a corrugated stationary box with fabric and attached a small wooden square that was also painted with chalkboard paint. Viola! Instant storage for our playdough cans.

I'm on the prowl for more bland containers & boxes to cover. Isn't organizing much more fun when its pretty??
