For the past two weeks, both boys have had some runny noses & coughs here & there.  But I didn't really think much of it...until Westie woke up Thursday afternoon with his eyes crusted shut. 
I jumped online & quickly self-diagnosed him with an ear infection.  It was news to me that ear infections can cause eye pucky, but I knew it wasn't pink eye and a clogged tear duct was unlikely since he's not a newbie.
After un-gluing his eyelashes on Friday morning, I ventured the treacherous waters of taking two kids to the doctor single-handedly.  I didn't have anyone to watch J so I figured they could give him a once-over while we were there.  {Flashback to Weston's new baby dr appointment aka the only other time I've taken them both to the doctor:  Jackson was licking the window in the lobby.  Literally.}
My suspicions were correct -- Weston did have an ear infection.  And lucky for Jackson that he got to come along for the ride, because BOTH of his ears were infected.  Yes, between the two of them, we had 3 ear infections. 
Considering its March & this is the first sick visit we've had to the doctor since last Spring, I really can't complain.
